The rooms were exceptionally clean and nicely located away from the busy areas. I've never seen such a large shower! We ate at the Cresswell Arms and enjoyed the food too. Good all round B & B!

Nice friendly basic b&b in a lovely small village. Rita was a gracious & accommodating hostess and gave us a warm welcome after a long day traveling.

The hotal was easy to find even though it is out in the country side. There is easy access to other locations in the region e.g. Scarborough and Bridlington.Take the steam train from Pickering to Whitby it is so relaxing. The meals at the Cresswell Arms are lovely and good value for money. Breakfast time there is something for every one.

Only thing wrong for me was that the plates at breakfast were cold.Monday breakfast was supposed to be from 7-30am we weren't asked for our order until 7-50.

    Good

The hotel is well positioned. The bedrooms were good, and very clean. The evening meal we had was reasonably priced and fair value for money.

Breakfast was nothing special, but we did have nice pots of tea and coffee.

    Superb

The location for Castle Howard and the surrounding coutryside was amazing. Lovely country walks right on the doorstep. The staff were really friendly. The room appeared to be an annexe , possibly a converted stable around a courtyard, really well converted and beautifully decorated.

The wifi didnt work, Couldnt get any access to any network and my phone coulnt get coverage either - so I did feel pretty cut off. Not great as my visit was business related.

The cleanliness of the room . The 'crispness' of the sheets on the bed. The servicing of the room. The kind attention of the staff who sought every opportunity to ensure our stay was 'comfortable. The superb breakfasts and enjoyable evening meal
